Memories of poor pronunciation when I was in middle and high school( in my school days)

중고등학교 시절 나의 서툰 발음에 관한 기억들

 

When I was in middle school, nineth grader

중학교 3학년 때

I liked my english teacher who was also my homeroom teacher.

be in charge of English in school 영어 담당이다

나는 담임선생님이기도한 영어 선생님을 좋아했다

 One day in English class, my teacher asked me to read an English book.

I let(had, make) the dog go out of the room. 사역동사/ I had her my hair cut.

어느날 영어시간에 선생님은 나에게 영어책을 읽으라고 하셨다

I stood up and began to read it loudly.

일어나서 큰소리로 영어 책을 읽기 시작했다

After I read the book, she said that your ‘R’pronunciation is a little strange.

your ‘R’pronunciation sounds a little strange.

책을 읽은 후 ‘R’ 발음이 조금 이상하다고 말씀하셨다

And in my memory, my friends laughed at the sound.

그리고 내 기억으론, 그 소리를 듣고 친구들이 웃었다. 

I have began to feel ashamed of reading aloud in class since then.

그 후로 난 수업시간에 소리 내어 읽기를 부끄러워하기 시작했다

Maybe she didn’t notice that I was ashamed it because I was a very cheerful student.

I think she might have not noticed  that I was ashamed of it

아마도 선생님은 내가 부끄러워한다는 것을 알아채지 못했을 것이다 내 성격이 매우 매 쾌활한 학생이었기 때문에

I’ve never seen her since I graduated from middle school.

졸업 후 선생님을 한번도 뵌 적이 없다

Because she was transferred to a middle school in another province.

다른 지방의 중학교로 전근 가셨기 때문에

But even now, sometimes English reminds me of her.

그러나 지금도 가끔 영어는 나에게 선생님을 떠오르게 한다.

 

The another one of my memory- Another memory of mine

또 다른 기억 하나

When I was in high school, I had 5 very close friends.

There are 5 very close friends of mine.

고등학교 시절 나는 매우 친한 5명의 친구가 있었다.

we formed a group and called it ‘소나기’.

우리는 ‘소나기’라는 그룹을 결성했다.

 

we got together every day and used to sing to the guitar.

우리는 매일 모여서 기타에 맞추어 노래를 부르곤 했다.

At that time, our favorite songs were ‘Puff the magic dragon’ and 'Dream'.

그 당시, 우리들이 좋아하던 노래는 Puff the magic dragon과 dream이었다

Every time when I sang my friends were laughing at that sound of `라는 노래(동격을 나타내는)

‘Dragon and dream’s ‘r’ pronunciation.

내가 노래를 부를 때 마다 친구들이 드래곤 과 드림의 R 발음을 듣고 웃었다

Even though I tried to correct them but  it was only getting  my friends make laugh more.

고치려고 노력했지만 그것이 더 친구들을 웃게 만들었다.

These are the memory about my poor pronunciation.

이것들이 나의 서툰 영어 발음에 관한 기억입니다.

Now I can say that my pronunciation has improved wonderfully than when I was in my school days.

지금은 중학교나 고등학교 때보다는 더 잘 발음한다고 말 할 수 있어요~
